Friends of the ANU Classics Museum

Established in 1985, the group of the Friends of the ANU Classics Museum has as its aims the promotion of the interests of the Museum and the encouragement of interest in antiquity in the wider community.  The Friends organize lectures on the culture of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds and its manifestations in our own world, and also raise funds for the purchase of items for the collection.

Events
Tuesday 5 March | 6pm - The Classical World: Triumph and Tragedy. Canberra Times ANU Literary Event, Manning Clark Theatrew 1, Union Court ANU. Celebrated British author Tom Holland will talk about his trilogy of works about the classical world. Entry free, but bookings are essential - see attached flyer.

The Jill Downer Memorial Acquisition Fund
 
Following Jill Downer’s untimely death in 2011, the Friends have set up a memorial fund for the purchase of an item for the Museum collection that will be a perpetual reminder of Jill’s tireless commitment, organisational energy and passion for promoting all things classical, not only in the Museum but also in the wider community.  Donations are tax-deductible and can be made by downloading this form and sending it to the address below
