Graduate students

Graduate students in the School undertake both research and coursework programs.

Graduate coursework

Information for graduate coursework students can be found on Study@. You should also check regularly on Wattle for any specific course updates. If you have any issues with your study, we welcome you to contact us or just pop in for a chat.

Graduate research

The School recognises the valuable contribution of our research students to the life and culture of the School. For this reason, graduate students are encouraged to attend the School's weekly seminar program and asked to provide feedback to improve your experience.

Students are also welcome to use the facilities located in the Milgate Common Room of AD Hope. Any forms you need during your period of candidautre can be found using the links under 'Resources' below.

Compulsory coursework for current PhD students

As of 2011, all newly-enrolled Higher Degree Research (HDR) students are required to complete a series of courses over the first 18 to 24 months of full-time candidature. These are designed to enhance your academic training and to broaden your professional skills. Upon successful completion of these courses you will receive a Graduate Research Certificate, which will appear on your transcript.

The School of Cultural Inquiry has two graduate streams for HDR students. They offer:
