Undergraduates
At an undergraduate level, students normally complete a Film & New Media Major as part of their Bachelor of Arts degree. As from 2012 students will also be able to include a film minor in their the BA.
The Film & New Media Major offers students a wide choice in studying film and its new media context. The major is based on one core course: Introduction to Film Studies FILM1002, a first year course which introduces students to both film theory and film analysis, aiming to develop in students a high degree of cinema literacy. Students then choose another 7 courses (42 units) from a wide range of available courses.
A summary of undergraduate courses offered can be found at Study@ANU
Students interested in the major are encouraged to consult with the Convenor of this Major, Dr Gino Moliterno, to assemble an appropriate sequence of courses. Please note that not all later-year courses are offered each year.
